Hello!

My name is Evan Schmidt, and I am an aspiring broadcast journalist with skills in news writing and reporting, live multi-camera production, real-time graphics operation, video editing, and social media content creation. With three years in my school's broadcast journalism program and two years working at a pre-professional soccer club, I've built a strong foundation in both storytelling and live production. My work has been recognized with four CSMA awards, including first place in News Writing, Alternative Coverage Treatment, and Community News, along with a second-place finish also in Community News, as well as an NSPA nomination for Multimedia Broadcast Story of the Year. I currently serve as Executive Producer of my school's broadcast program and as a member of the CSMA Student Board. I am ready to bring that experience into college, where I hope to continue exploring broadcast journalism and live production at a deeper level.
